Client project -Profile sheet for Firelight Barn, part 2

The original version of their profile sheet.

Original profile sheet for Firelight Barn

In my last post,  I wrote about one of my clients – Firelight Barn– and how we have worked on updating their profile sheet so they can approach domestic tour operators with their unique venue and family entertainment. Check out that post here.

In this post, you will see the final product and what they plan to do to increase group business. I love helping my clients take targeted action so they can increase sales. Especially when my clients are small businesses- which are the majority of tourism businesses!

Final profile sheet- and it looks great!

Improvements

This version is so easy to read.  The headings break up the text and the bullet points make it easy to follow. Remember, no one will read big blocks of text, so bullet points are the best way to get your information across.

  • They mention that they are just south of Las Vegas – everyone knows where that is. You will probably need to add a map to your profile sheet.
  • By listing awards and accolades, it shows they have been in business for a while and are a professionally run organization.
  • Changing the heading from ‘testimonies’ to ‘ our guests love us’ helps to sell the experience even more
  • The pricing is listed and is per person and includes tax and gratuity
  • All the contact information is easy to find

Some additional improvements to consider

This version does a great job of giving a tour operator a feel for the experience and provides the information they need. Here were my final suggestions:

  • Include beverages in the meal price. Coffee, tea, and soda are a standard inclusion for meals so they should be factored into the pricing. Alcohol isn’t offered here but there are various ways to offer that if your facility does.
  • Have a plan to take more photos. The more images you have of groups having fun, the better you can share the experience. Have them available for download from your website so a tour operator can add an image to their description of their tour.
  • Add this document to their website. Having a group area of your website is very important, and having your profile sheet available as a download is valuable to an operator that is checking you out online.

Now what?

A great profile sheet does no good unless it gets into the right hands. I suggested they make office calls ( with food from their location) to their DMO ( Destination Marketing Organization) as well as a few hotels they know that work with groups. Send copies of these to any tour operator that has booked previously, with a handwritten note.

Start asking for testimonials after groups have enjoyed a visit. You can post them on your website and social media.

A great profile sheet should be a part of your sales strategy to get more groups. But it is only one element.
