Read a Book
I have shared my favorite business books in blog posts throughout the years, and in 2019 I created a place in Tourism Pro Academy where all these books are listed. Even if you read only one new book this year, it will put you in good company. Those that read to improve their professional skills and understanding will be leaders. Share a Blog Post.
I have been writing blog posts since 2016. You can access them all at sallydavisberry.com/blog. The topics range from Group Tours, to Tourism Trends to Information for New Tourism Pros. Here are some of the top blog posts- share one with your co-workers this week!

Take a Course
The pandemic has provided the time and ability to take online courses during our downtime. What courses have you taken? None? Let’s remedy that.
Try a course at LinkedIn Learning ( you can get a free 30 day trial), or check out the online courses I have developed at TourismProAcademy.com. I have short courses on How to Build your Network, Time Management for Tourism Professionals, and a LinkedIn course from LinkedIn Expert Louise Brogan, among others.
Check with other organizations you belong to and see if there are online course opportunities. And remember to post your course completions to your LinkedIn profiles and make sure your manager is aware of your endeavors as well!
Share Tourism information on LinkedIn.
Speaking of LinkedIn, one way we can help each other is by sharing helpful articles that you find. Many online articles have the LinkedIn logo (along with other social media icons). You can just click on the LinkedIn logo and it will automatically connect to your LinkedIn profile and let you write a short message to accompany your article. One thing I have learned through Louise’s course is to ask a question when you post so you can create a dialogue and have more people interact – and find you.
Building your network and spreading knowledge is a great project for this week!
Help a Newbie
Do you remember when you first started in this industry? Did you feel like everyone else knew what was going on, knew what to do and also was friends with every person they came across? That can be intimidating. Our industry has gone through an upheaval and there are now people in positions that have limited background and understanding. Take a few minutes this week and spend some time answering questions, giving them the name of someone to connect with, and encourage them. Share this post and tell them to sign up so they can get an email with helpful information about our industry every week.
A rising tide lifts all boats and we will recover sooner when everyone can be their best.
How can I help you during NTTW week and beyond?
DMOs/Tourism Organizations:
Are you looking for a way to provide value to your partners but have limited budgets? Check out the Online Tourism Training Program with this link. I can help you provide monthly virtual training for you to offer to your partners/members.
Janet Kasic, Director of Circle Michigan: My company, Circle Michigan, recently contracted with Sally Davis Berry for her Online Tourism Training Program. I am grateful to have been able to offer these educational webinars to our membership. We had phenomenal feedback to the three webinars we participated in. And Sally made it so EASY!
My team will take care of registration, reminders, and even a post-webinar survey! Let me know what topics your partners need help with and we will develop impactful training. I am booked through the end of June, but am booking new clients starting in July 2021. Prices start at just $995 for each training. Click here to email me and we can set up a time to talk!
Can I ask a Favor?
I am a goal setter and I want to have 2000 readers by the end of this summer. Can you forward this email to two other tourism professionals you know? If you work at a DMO or Tourism Organization, I would love it if you would encourage your partners to sign up to receive my weekly posts. Thank you! Just click here to be added to the mailing list.
