Speaking
I have always enjoyed helping other tourism attractions and destinations become more successful by offering strategies and ideas to implement. Having worked at a regional DMO, and at several attractions has given me knowledge of the industry from many angles.
Are you looking for someone that is good at taking complex subjects and turning them into understandable pieces of information and easy to implement steps? I enjoy helping DMOs educate their partners by offering specific actions to undertake when they leave my sessions.
I am always happy to hear that tourism partners thought my sessions were very valuable. I’m even happier when the DMOs tell me that their partners actually implemented some changes and are seeing results! That’s a win for all of us. Successful attractions help support successful DMOs which in turn make for a more vibrant community.
Hiring me to help develop more business for your area is a great first step on the path to setting yourself apart from the competition.

Sally was recruited as a speaker for our Summer Sales retreat. Her topic " The 80/20 rule for Tourism professionals" was presented to the suppliers in attendance. While I was not able to attend her presentation, multiple attendees came up to me afterward and praised Sally's session. They said they had learned a lot and had great takeaways. Her handouts proved useful and attendees were happy to have a tool to take back to the office. I would easily recommend Sally as a speaker at a tourism event.

Work Less, Have More Free Time. The 80/20 Principle for Tourism Professionals
The 80/20 principle is the perfect solution for tourism professionals who are never done with the work and are trying to find a balance between serving customers and having a life outside the job. For managers trying to get the best work out of their employees, the 80/20 principle gives a framework for helping that happen. By following the spirit of 80/20, I will show you that some actions are extremely important, and most aren’t important at all. We look at implementing this process in three areas: with clients, staff and our personal life. It is an eye-opening program that has received enthusiastic responses from participants.
- What is the 80/20 principle and how can it apply to the tourism industry
- Clients – the vital few and the trivial many
- Staff- what is the best role and skill set for each position
- Your personal life – having more free time makes you a better leader
This is a half day training with breaks. Workbooks included for each participant. Follow up includes PDF with links to articles on the 80/20 principle articles.
Sally presented to OMCA Delegates at Marketplace, Ottawa 2019. Her presentations were interactive with tangible action items that delegates could implement. Comments from attendees were that Sally’s approach was fresh and they learned a lot especially on new resources. Having booked many presenters over the years, Sally’s presentation was high energy with lots of questions being asked – delegates were very much engaged.
